The new Samsung Galaxy Watch3 is an example of craftsmanship with futuristic features. There are many smartphones, but this gadget is the best alternative and worth every penny. There is a wide variety of sizes in these smartwatches; most of the time, smaller watches are left out from great features. Samsung has upgraded the previous version making this smartwatch more desirable; the significant change is that smaller watches are not excluded from great features.
Mostly there are two types of smartwatches you can have; some watches are for extended connectivity and only show notifications of your phone. Other watches are capable of running app and be more independent; Watch3 is the second type. Watch3 comes with a bunch of features like it can have LTE connection and loudspeaker it means that you can make or have calls; it also has things like Wi-Fi and GPS.
Now that we know Samsung Galaxy Watch3 is a great smartwatch to have. Now let’s discuss every aspect of the smartwatch:
- Design and Build of the smartwatch: – This watch has been inspired by infamous old Gear Sport. Both Gear sport are so similar that it has only the difference of navigation buttons in the build. The body of the watch is made from stainless steel. Samsung has claimed that Watch3 is 14% thinner and 15% lighter than the original Galaxy Watch.
This device offers you non-plastic back, most of the premium watches have a plastic back in, but Galaxy watches are not one of those. Samsung has retained classic ‘rotating bezel’ from previous versions. Rotating bezel acts as a ‘screen protector’ for the smartwatch; the bezel typically takes the first hit.
The strap of Smart-Watch is replaceable as well. So, you can have a strap which is comfortable and beautiful for you. A 41mm watch uses 20mm, and a 45mm uses a 22mm strap. The device could be worn in water as well as it has been rated as 5ATM/IP68.
- Usability and Control for Watch3: – As we expressed pleasure for the rotating ring, this ring helps us navigate different options. This Tizen Watch supports both the ring and finger navigation.
The bottom button is the home button, and the button on the top is used to go back or to pause the workout.
This watch has an always-on-display, but you can enable the “lift-to-wake” function. This function turns on the screen when you turn your wrist. About ”9/10” times, it responds with an active screen. So, if you do not like Always-on-display, you can enable “lift-to-wake.”
- Specs of Galaxy Watch3:
Galaxy Watch3 has a 1.2-inch panel with circular AMOLED panel supporting 360px * 360 px resolution. The display of our watch is protected Gorilla Glass Dx; it has been upgraded from DX+ glass, which was used in older Galaxy watches.
Every pixel is driven by old and gold Exynos 9110 chipset using a dual-core processor running at a speed of 1.15GHz. Including the 1gb of ram and 8gb of internal storage makes the Watch3 active and fast.
The infamous Tizen OS 5.5 runs superbly on the device; there are no complaints and faults in the performance. One can say that the company could have increased battery power, but it would have degraded the performance.
Speaking of battery, this watch offers 247 mAh for the 41mm version, and for 45mm version, we are provided with 340 mAh. It means that the battery of this smartwatch is normal and average, but it still provides better results.
This device is supported by A2DP and LE protocols over Bluetooth 5.0; this provides excellent connectivity over Bluetooth. The signal can be passed over anywhere in an apartment with thick walls. It can have robust connectivity in places where Wi-Fi signals cannot pass through.
This Watch is packed with sensors. There is a real ECG inside, accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, and blood pressure monitor. The ECG monitor provides certified ECG readings and also sends health alerts if any abnormality is seen in health rhythm in South Korea and recently in the USA
- Battery life
– the battery life of this watch is equal to any other average premium smartwatch. You can use it all day long and wear it while you are sleeping if you set your watch’s brightness to 6/10 and enable notification through sound and vibration and lower the intervals of heart measurements.
Charging is not exclusive as well; it charges from 0% to 100% over two hours. The charger of this smartwatch is wireless, supporting Qi charging. It cannot be charged over a standard Qi-compatible pad.
- Interface and Operating system
Tizen is one of the best-operating systems for smartwatches out there. It offers you a wide variety of choices in apps and watches faces to download so that you are not bored with the default face of the watch.
There is a wide variety of faces, and you can customize the face as well. You can also choose an app to show on screen like activity level, weather, remaining battery, steps, heart rate, etc.
The dropdown menus in the watch are customizable, and this menu gives access to primary functions such as battery saver, the brightness of the screen, theatre mode, find my phone, goodnight mode, GPS, etc. The theatre mode and night mode are advantageous as they disable sound for notification and disable wake-up gesture.
There is a water lock that disables the touch screen in case you are swimming or taking a shower; this lock prevents any accidental touch from water. Pressing the power button deactivates the lock.
Many apps are in-built on Tizen OS, but if you want to download more apps, you can download from Galaxy store for wearable apps. Primary apps you need, for example, navigation, fitness-related are pre-installed on the watch.
So, if you are considering buying any smartwatch which comprises everything, you should have Samsung galaxy Watch3. This watch is a Tizen based watch with nearly every app and brilliant interface. This watch also has a beautiful build and design. In fewer words, this watch is packed with a muscular build and futuristic interface.
Samsung Galaxy Watch3
Saying that smartwatches have become an integral part of our lives would be an overstatement but we are (probably) headed in that general direction. And we believe that Samsung, as one of the pioneers in the field, has got quite a lot of things right. The current Galaxy Watch3 is the epitome of excellent craftsmanship and software optimization so even with that steep price tag of around €460, there are a couple of good reasons why you'd want to buy one. It's easily one of the best, if not the best alternative to Apple's Watch.
