Although Realme is new in the market, company products managed to impress every techie around the world. Realme has introduced yet another upgraded mid-range smartphone, and that is Realme 7 pro. Manufacturers of this product have made slight updates in hardware and software from its predecessor, some upgrades have made the phone more desirable, and some upgrades have downgraded the device. For instance, the upgraded Realme 7 camera setup does not include the telephoto camera anymore; it also lost the ultra-wide camera on the front side. The newly upgraded smartphone has gone with a 60Hz OLED screen, which has shrunk the display
We know that the company has added some downgrade features, but it has also added some great mechanisms. Like we get the 65W SuperDart charging, which is the first apparatus in the market. The improved speed and smaller footprint have made the charging more efficient. Seven pros also offer us a battery capacity of 4500mAh, which is an upgrade from the 4300mAh battery in Realme 6 pro. The design is also upgraded back of the phone is mostly matte, camera setup has also been changed. The altered edges and design make the handset grip more firm and easy.
The dimensions of Realme 7 pro are 160.9 x 74.3 x 8.7 made of the plastic body; the plastic body is protected with Gorilla Glass 3+. The screen of Realme 7 Pro is 6.4 inches with a Super AMOLED display; we are offered a resolution of 1080 x 2400px. We have a quad-camera setup having four snappers. These four snappers include a primary camera of 64Mp, an ultra-wide camera 8MP, a Macro snapper 2Mp, and a depth sensor camera of 2Mp. At the front end, we have a 32Mp selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.5. Realme 7 pros are also known for its performance as it comes with a Snapdragon of 720g chipset, which is complemented with an Octa-Core CPU.
This device also comes with memory and RAMS variants of 6GB/64GB, 8GB/128GB, with an expandable microSD card. It uses the industry-standard operating system that is Android 10 with a mix of its own operating system, and that is Realme UI. We also discussed that how Realme has upgraded the fast charging with 65W SuperDart charging with a battery capacity of 4500mAh. Realme 7 Pro supports 4G connectivity and USB type –C 2.0 with dual-band Wi-Fi. We have Bluetooth version of 5.1 and GPS for location exposure. This device also supports Dual Sim connectivity.
Unboxing the Phone
The box of Realme 7 Pro is the same as the box carrying the Vanilla 7 model. It has a 65W capable charger with a USB-A to USB-C cable. The
transparent silicone case is also included; this makes it the best package in middle-range phones.
Design and Handling
The design of Realme 7 pro has been drastically upgraded from the previous version, and that is Realme 6 pro. The flashy gradients are replaced with a two-tone matte finish. This gives an impression of a metal phone instead of a plastic body. Two colors variants are available to buy, and that is Vanilla Ice and Mirror Blue. The back panel is not only nice, but it provides us better grip and comfort compared to its predecessor. The finish at the back does not attract any fingerprint, and it seems it would not penetrate any scratches because it is very sturdy.
The power button is also placed nicely on the frame, the frame is still plastic, but the matte finish gives an impression of metal from a distance. Realme 7 pro is also shorter and has a bit narrower body, which makes it 20g lighter so you can comfortably carry the phone and operate it with one hand. The new camera setup also frees up space for your finger while you are grabbing the handset, so your bottom lens would not smudge like Realme 6 Pro.
On the front side, we have thin bezels with the bottom bezel is a little thick. The selfie camera’s hole has also been minified; this punch hole is placing only one camera on the AMOLED panel as it is on the panel; it less tolerance and has a finer cutout for the sensor compared to other display options.
The major turnoff is that Realme 7 pro uses Gorilla Glass 3+ instead of the Gorilla Glass 5, which was used by Realme Pro 6. The fingerprint sensor is placed under the display of the OLED screen.
The sensor is not good enough as other mid-range smartphones. The fingerprint unlocking system is fast but inaccurate; you may have to try a few times to unlock the phone.
We have a quad-camera setup; the leading camera is 64Mp Sony IMX682. It is assisted with an 8Mp wide-angle camera and a basic 2Mp camera. 32 Mp selfie cameras are also added, which like primary sensors, combine four pixels to 1 pixel.
The primary camera performs great in broad daylight colors are very close to the natural view; the dynamic range is wide. A low light camera performs well, but there is room for improvement as it does not embosses the detail very well.
You can enhance the performance with night mode if there is low light in the environment. The other three cameras do not much detail or functionality; the wide-angle snapper misses the details and has plenty of room for improvement. Portrait mode can easily subject the object and edges, but we may have to add the bokeh toggle for background blur.
Macro cameras let you zoom and get near the subject, but the details are not embossed very well. You have to be dependent on the main camera for high-quality photos.32Mp snapper at the front capture great photos with proper lighting; beauty modes is on by default for the selfie cameras. Camera apps are not very interactive, and it is pretty complex.
Chipset of the phone has not been changed; the greatest change in the hardware was the all-new display. This display comes with an OLED panel combined with a lower refresh rate of 60Hz. The industry trend in the middle range phones is a refresh rate of 90Hz. Realme has shown maturity; the company did not go for trending refresh rate; instead, to fit in the budget and give excellent user experience, Realme added the AMOLED display.
The company made the wise decision of having OLED panel and AMOLED display because the quality of photos and videos is pretty visible instead of smooth 90Hz animations. So the shift from 90HZ LCD panel to a 60HZ OLED panel is definitely an upgrade. You can enjoy the streaming services in full HD content.
Realme has minified the size as well; the diagonal measurement has been reduced to 6.4’ from 6.6’. This allows the user to operate the phone single-handedly; the minified size also allows to grab the phone comfortably.
The camera setup has also been modified; the telephoto shooter has been replaced with the depth sensor. The primary 64MP camera has combined with a sensor that is tasked with zooming. The other two cameras are (8Mp ultra-wide and 2Mp macro snappers) are left unchanged.
The new Realme 7 Pro has been upgraded with first 65W SuperDart charging, which tops the charging 100% in 42minutes. This fast charging is amalgamated with a battery capacity of 4500mAh, which makes the phone powerful and endured. Realme 7 Pro comes with 65W bark and an 18W USB cable.
Realme 7 is now upgraded with a stereo loudspeaker with a Dolby Atmos; this has been a big jump from Realme 6 Pro
Software and Features
Realme UI has added a ColorOS, which adds the colorfulness at every window. Pre-installed apps come with Realme 7 pro you can uninstall them if you don’t want them. Realme 7 Pro also comes with default interfaces like Google Phone and other Messages app. Super saving mode is available to get you out from confusing situations, this mode was introduced in Realme C15, and it seems that it would appear in every Realme phone.
Many camera features also come up with Realme 7 pro like night mode and 64Mp both have AI, and Pro toggles these modes gives you more freedom to control the photographic parameters. Starry mode is also introduced in Night mode; at last, we also have Movie mode to manually controlling the parameters for recording the videos. This mode is first in the market; no middle range phone gives such freedom except Realme 7 pro.
Realme 7 Pro
New Realme 7 Pro has almost perfected every aspect but with some risky decisions, for example, excluding out the telephoto lens, which is not a wise decision but since it has made upgrades in the camera setup. The downgrade of refresh rate and the exclusion of the ultra-wide camera may have resulted in criticism from the tech communities, but the phone still performs absolutely great. Many upgrades are made from predecessors (Realme 6) like battery capacity, stereo speakers, and the exquisite Super AMOLED panel. With the middle range prices and futuristic mechanisms, clearly, Realme seven pro has the potential to grab the major market.
